Forno offers European-style artisanal sourdough breads and pizzas in a unique setting in the beautiful village of Westport, ON.

Pizza has been our family passion for over 15 years.  Our careers as geologists led us to move around a lot and we have made pizzas and learned everywhere we have lived. We continually strive to improve the dough, technique, and ingredients. 

In Portugal we grew accustomed to daily fresh sourdough bread from our local village bakery. After we returned to Canada we were inspired to recreate those breads and to take our pizza to the next level.

Forno was launched at Westport Market in Spring 2023, and the response from the community was so positive we took the plunge to develop a storefront and restaurant...which is finally opening in Fall 2024.

Our doughs are hand-mixed and undergo a slow fermentation process with our ‘Raised on the Rideau’ starter. We use locally sourced flour, cheese, produce and cured meat wherever possible, as well as select imported quality ingredients.
